It was a complete surprise to acknowledge I was nominated for the ‘Womanhood Global -Woman Start-Up Recognition Award’ by a lovely journalist Susan Brookes in Summer 2016. After only launching Premier Housekeeping Ltd for domestic cleaning in Birmingham for a few months my efforts were beginning to be recognised by social media across West Midlands.
Winning a prestigious award has surely had a positive impact on many aspects in my business. I’ve listed five reasons why winning an award will be ideal for potential entrepreneurs like myself below:
Actions speak louder than words! Winning an award can be a defining moment for many organisations. It can provide that time of recognition and credibility that the team have been working hard to achieve. We now get congratulated by our current and new clients! This is an absolute bonus for welcoming new customers and maintaining that assurance to our current customers that they’re with the best cleaners!
PR & Social Media
Winning this award is a very cost effective way of marketing my business. My company was put in the spotlight from the run-up to the event, on the event night of 27th August 2016 itself as well as in all post-event coverage – and for all the right reasons. I had efficient use of my social media accounts throughout this time which maximised my exposure, reaching out to new and existing clients, all friends and family across the globe which was a massive bonus.
Entering the awards can be great regarding thinking differently about my business and comparing Premier Housekeeping Ltd to other organisations within the cleaning industry. It helps to determine where Premier Housekeeping Ltd stands against its competitors and it can also contribute to identifying areas for improvement.
Winning an award can be a great team building exercise to help boost motivation and improve morale. It was a pleasure to give bonuses and a free team meal. I certainly believe it’s an opportunity to recognise individual staff members for all their hard work and celebrates their achievements too. Studies have confirmed that motivated employees are more productive and quality-focused. They will also feel more valued, which had a positive ripple effect on Premier Housekeeping Ltd at large.
Following all of the massive publicity from winning my award, I’ve seen a shift in how others perceive me; this includes prospective employees. It gives me the assurance we will further stimulate the growth of Premier Housekeeping Ltd and aid in its expansion shortly.
Winning this award is a big deal for me. My late Grandmother’s influence had encouraged me to begin it all. This award has confirmed that what I am doing is OK. All those late nights are busily tapping away, fathoming out the easiest explanation of various technical blogging bits, constructing my simple cleaning company of infographic to present content marketing in a way that all audiences of all levels can benefit from. I do aim to increase the growth of Premier Housekeeping Ltd in many aspects, and this award has given the extra boost to invest even more into achieving more! A special thanks to Susan Brookes, family, friends and my team for all their support.
